SIPAD, Sarajevo was the largest specialized trade organization for forestry products and wood refining, both in former Yugoslavia and in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 Its reputation and market position in country and abroad has been built thanks to rich tradition, big sales network (about 200 own trade objects and 170 rented objects), constant connection with 191 manufacturing companies in areas of forestry, primary wood refining and furniture manufacture within large SIPAD family in Bosnia and Herzegovina, through business cooperation with other industries in former Yugoslavia and abroad and with its qualified experts.

Forest industry cooperation share participation partnership SIPAD was founded in 1892 by German industrial businessman Otto Steibass from Brandenburg in Germany.

Until the end of 1940-ies, corporation emerged in well known and renowned company on both home and foreign wood market. Its size, line of work and expert organization, good management, special ways of sorting wood products and quality of SIPAD trademark goods were well known and appreciated abroad. In period from 1927 to 1937 SIPAD was exporting about 150.000 m³ of sawed wood material from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After Second World War, in 1948, activities of SIPAD have been restored, and in 1980-ies, 195 manufacture and retail companies, as well as expert institutions were in its structure. In those times, SIPAD owned 30% of Yugoslavian forests and 30% of Yugoslavian wood products export.

SIPAD KOMERC was founded in 1976 within SIPAD GROUP, as a trade company
for  inner und foreign wood product trade.
ŠIPAD ENGINEERING specialized for inner product trade was founded in 1981.That same year with the establishing Sipad Engineering, SIPAD GROUP begin with building and equipping objects in complete engineering system. In the 1991 first ownership transformation has been made and SIPAD KOMERC was registered as Share participation partnership.

During the war  in Bosnia und Herzegovina, 1992 to 1995,SIPAD KOMERC d.d. continues to operate in smaller scope. In 1996 SIPAD KOMERC starts to repair sales objects and restore retail trade of furniture and building materials in Federation BIH. In 1995 SIPAD ENGINEERING was merged into SIPAD KOMERC, which made SIPAD KOMERC expand its activities to building and equipping all kinds of objects of different purpose. Until year 2000., bonds with other parts of SIPAD KOMERC  from former Yugoslavia have been restored and other partnerships have been made. Restoring of ownership and creating of trade bonds within SIPAD KOMERC resulted in restoring of regional sales network. Final privatization of SIPAD KOMERC was made through general public sale of leftover state capital shares in 2001. and Share participation partnership SIPAD KOMERC was registered in Cantonal court in Sarajevo and in Value Papers Registry of Federation BIH as a 100% private Share Participator Partnership.

In  after war period SIPAD KOMERC expanded its activities to manufacture.

Today  ŠIPAD KOMERC functions as Share Participator  Partnership which makes its manufacturing, sales and engineering activities through main partnership and other daughter companies and Share Participator  Partnership in country and abroad which are co owned by SIPAD KOMERC.
